João Delgado is Head of the Unit of Leonardo da Vinci Programme of the European Commission. Leonardo da Vinci is is the action programme for implementing the European Community's vocational training policy and Mr Delgado is responsible for its implementation.

Mr. Delgado holds a Bachelor's degree in Law (University of Lisbon) and Post Graduate Degrees in European Studies (Europa College, Bruges) and Business Administration (Ecolle de Commerce Solvay, Brussels).

Mr. Delgado worked as a lawyer in Lisbon, and later in the Banking Sector in Portugal. Before becoming Head of Unit Leonardo da Vinci, he worked in various positions for the European Commission: Administrator in the Regional Policies Directorate General, Administrator in the Development Directorate General and Principal Administrator in Employment Directorate General.
